Hormann Sectional Doors

Well respected in the industry, Hormann sectional doors are hard to beat!

What's the big deal with Sectional Garage Doors?

Sectional garage doors really are a big deal because when it comes to putting a new door on your garage you can't really do much better!

Why?

  1. Insulation - They give excellent insulation to your home.
  2. Security - They are the most difficult doors to break in to!
  3. Vertical Opening - Allows you to maximize the space on your driveway.
  4. Rubber seals - They have rubber seals all round stopping leaves and water entering your garage.
  5. Automation - Designed to be automated so no problems there. They also come in manual form if you do't need an automatic garage door.
  6. Low maintenance - An annual service is all you need to keep your door running trouble free for many years to come.
  7. Can have windows to allow light in at the top whilst keeping your garage free from prying eyes.
  8. Come in a range of door panel styles and finishes. Can be made from GRP and Timber also!

That's eight. There are more reasons to get a sectional garage door but we think you get the point!

S-Ribbed Sectional Garage Door

S-Ribbed Sectional Garage Door

The S-Ribbed Panel Style has 4 smaller horizontal ribs stamped into each panel and there is usually 4 or 5 panels in total depending on the height of the door. Most UK doors tend to have 4 panels as the common heights of garage doors in the UK are 6' 6" (1981mm) or 7' 0" (2134mm). However care should be taken as this translates into 2000mm door height and 2125mm door heights as far as Hormann is concerned when it comes to their "Standard" sizes. Other heights are available but come as "Made to Measure".

Another great option for sectional doors is to have a central wicket door installed. This allows easy access without the need to open the whole door every time. Perfect for when you are using the garage as an office, workshop or you just need easy access for bicycles etc. One of the common reasons our customers want a wicket doors is when they have a deep-freeze in the garage and need to be in and out of the garage several times each day don't have a side door leading from the house into the garage, For this a Wicket door is perfect.
